The Howard Street Home is situated on the east slope of Mt. Davidson and within walking distance to unique shops and offerings. We offer two bedrooms, access to the parlor, reading room, and the front room which has a cozy pellet stove. At 6400 ft. elevation, the yard views are the most extensive out of all the Virginia City B&B’s. Enjoy your breakfast, refresh yourself with a frosty beverage, or simply relax and enjoy the stunning views from the front and side yards. The third yard provides a fine prospect of the “Ophir Diggings”, the original gold discovery in Virginia City.

The Howard Street Home is 15 miles from Carson City, Nevada State Capitol, 22 miles from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, and 40 miles from Incline Village, Lake Tahoe. If you enjoy antique shopping outside of Virginia City, many shops can be found on Hwy. 50, a comfortable 12-mile drive into Mound House and North Carson City.

The home has 2 wings, east and west, a total of 3,162 sq. ft. on a ½ acre total lot. The guest rooms, located in the west wing, provide privacy and comfort, each with a private entrance. Guests are welcome to use the common areas in the east wing (sitting room, parlor, reading room) during the hours of operation. Quiet hours on weekends begin at 11:00 pm and on weekdays at 9:00 pm. Private entrances to each room are available when the front doors close. These hours are strictly enforced with respect for our neighbors.
